Week 1 of MFWF 2015 - what's been happening..

A whole week of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has passed, and what a week it has been!

The fabulous Bank of Melbourne Longest Lunch took place at Fitzroy Gardens last Friday with beautiful weather, delicious food and wine and a whole lot of happy, hungry folk (1,604 to be exact!)

The three-course lunch was created by Shane Delia (of Maha restaurant) and Adriano Zumbo (of Adriano Zumbo Patissier) with Peter Rowland Catering doing a great job of feeding the lucky seated. Mount Zero organic extra virgin olive oil and Pink Lake salt graced the tables, along with produce from The Myrtleford Butter Factory, La Madre Bakery, and a whole lot more.

Yet more amazing pop-up installations have gone up around the city, with Festival Artisan Bakery & Bar appearing on the banks of the Yarra, just on Southbank. It’s the perfect spot for a coffee and freshly baked goods before work or a catch up over a glass of wine after hours (double points if you spot the Mount Zero organic EVOO and Mount Zero olives!)

If coffee, wine, beer and freshly made bread isn’t enough there’s also a stellar line up of bakers who are providing daily workshops so you can learn how to make your own – Tivoli Road salted caramel doughnuts anyone?! Mmmm…
